PeopleSoft
Since September 2008 I have been working as PeopleSoft Application Maintainer for ROC Mondriaan in The Hague.
PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is software owned and developed by Oracle. It contains an Oracle database for storage,
PeopleTools for development of new features and a web server that allows employees to use the (web based) application.
At ROC Mondriaan PeopleSoft is used for:
- Tracking student careers
- Sending financial data to the government
- Creation of (legal) documents that students need to follow education
- Tracking of class attendance
- Various connections to other applications
In my function I am responsible for:
- Tier II support
- Analyzing repeating problems
- Functional database management
- Release management

Implementation of interface with Edukaat software
I coordinated the implementation of the Edukaat <-> PeopleSoft <-> SQL server interface that allows Human Resource data to flow through the organization in a standardized way. Edukaat is software developed by the raet company.

Designing Row Level Groups
Row Level Security is a technology used to allow users to access certain data. (Or prevent them from seeing it) in PeopleSoft this is maintained per user. The design I made allowed us to create groups of users and bulk update them with a profile. So we don't have to update them one-by-one if we add items to the security list or modify the security settings.

Distribution of timetable roles
I distributed rights throughout the organization for the creation of timetables. The decentralization of timetable related work reduces the amount of time needed to register class attendance.

Research for automating postal code lookups
The dutch postal table in PeopleSoft is updated by importing SQL data every month. I did a research to replace this import by a remote look-up. The resolution I found saved us time and money.
