The Internet Controlled Applications Project. (ICA)
The Internet Controlled
Applications project group was a development group formed by three Belgium
bachelor electronics students of the De Nayer Institute in Sint
Katelijne Waver and one Dutch bachelor electronics student of The Hague
University for Professional Education. The group is now defunct.
Under the umbrella of the VLAJO (Flemish Youth Association) we created
a Small Business Project (SBP). Our SBP is financed by stock holders.
More marketing and business considerations can be found in our business
plan.
Our slogan is our goal: “Your Automation Everywhere You
Are”, which basically means that we connect you to your
automation electronics everywhere you are. We provide full services for
our products. This includes installation but also customer specific
adaptations.
What is our project?
Our project is to create a web server thermostat for in door use. It is
meant for the consumer market.
What are our project objectives?
- Create a web server that enables a user to monitor and
modify the temperature of his home.
- Monitoring and modification can be done locally with push
buttons and an LCD display. And remotely via the Internet, the only
thing the user then needs is a PC connected with the Internet and a
commonly used graphic browser. (No further requirements, no installs or
setups.)
- Stand alone temperature control. (PC doesn’t have
to be on all the time)
- User authentication.
- The thermostat will be adapted to customers needs and is
fully modifiable.
- The project will not be sold as a stand alone product but
will always be installed by the project members.
